Crisis can strike any time, day or night. Feelings such as hopelessness, guilt, and loneliness can lead people to think that suicide is their only option. If you or someone you know is at critical or immediate risk, please call 911 immediately.
Suicide Warning Signs:
· Talking about wanting to die or to kill themselves.
· Looking for a way to kill themselves, such as searching online or buying a gun.
· Talking about feeling hopeless or having no reason to live.
· Talking about feeling trapped or in unbearable pain.
· Talking about being a burden to others.
· Increasing the use of alcohol or drugs.
· Acting anxious or agitated; behaving recklessly.
· Withdrawing or isolating themselves.
· Showing rage or talking about seeking revenge.
· Displaying extreme mood swings.
Crisis Text Line
Crisis Text Line is free, 24/7 support for those in crisis. Crisis Text Line trains volunteers to support people in crisis.
The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (800)273-8255 is a national network of local crisis centers that provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
